In the heart of the Saint-Émilion vineyard, Château Balestard La Tonnelle, a Grand Cru Classé, opens its doors for an authentic and immersive château visit in Saint-Émilion. With its historical heritage, winemaking expertise, and breathtaking views, our estate is one of the must-visit places for wine tourism enthusiasts in Saint-Émilion.
Ideally located just 800 metres from the UNESCO-listed village centre, Château Balestard La Tonnelle is accessible in a 10-minute walk via the famous "Balestard path", a picturesque stroll through the vineyards.
By car, the estate is located one minute from the roundabout of Saint-Émilion, making it an easy château to visit during a stay in the Bordeaux region.
Completely renovated, the estate has been reimagined to welcome visitors in a warm and family-friendly setting, offering optimal comfort for a true immersion in the world of wine. Conclude the experience with a wine tasting in Saint-Émilion, guided by our teams. You will be able to compare the styles and expressions of the wines from our three properties, all in a refined and friendly atmosphere.

Discover the different steps of wine tasting and the associated vocabulary during an oenology class. In this sensory workshop, you will taste and identify the aromas of our Saint-Émilion Grand Cru and Classified Growth wines. The wine tasting is paired with chocolates by artisan Denis Daubos.
Blending Workshop
Come and enjoy a blending workshop where you’ll discover Bordeaux’s famous single varietals: Merlot, Cabernet Franc, and Cabernet Sauvignon. Create your own bottle (blend and label) and take home your personal cuvée
