In the heart of the Saint-Émilion vineyards, Château Balestard La Tonnelle, a Grand Cru Classé estate, welcomes you for an authentic and immersive château visit in Saint-Émilion. Combining rich historical heritage, winemaking expertise, and breathtaking views, our estate is one of the must-visit destinations for wine tourism enthusiasts in Saint-Émilion.
Ideally located just 800 meters from the UNESCO-listed village center, Château Balestard La Tonnelle can be reached in a 10-minute walk via the famous “Balestard path,” a picturesque stroll through the vineyards. By car, the estate is only one minute from the Saint-Émilion roundabout, making it an easy stop during a stay in the Bordeaux region.
The highlight of the visit : our 400 m² rooftop terrace, offering spectacular views over the medieval village of Saint-Émilion and the surrounding appellations. This exceptional spot is perfect for enjoying a glass of wine, taking in the scenery, or capturing unforgettable photos of your visit.

From April 1st, Château Balestard La Tonnelle will be open from Tuesday to Saturday, from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM. Advance booking is strongly recommended.

We are very proud to announce that Château Balestard La Tonnelle now hosts OENANIM activities within its estate, offering new sensory and playful experiences around wine, blending tradition, culture, and innovation. A collaboration between two passionate players, aiming to reinvent wine tourism—we are excited to share this with you !
To make the experience complete and gourmet, Saint-Émilion wine tastings are guided and accompanied by chocolates crafted by artisan Denis Daubos. Perfect food and wine pairings await you ! All experiences take place in the estate’s vaulted cellar.

Mélissa founded Oenanim in 2013 to create immersive and original wine experiences in the Bordeaux region.
At the end of 2025, she joined Château Balestard La Tonnelle in Saint-Émilion, where she now offers her signature Escape Wine experience.

With 10 years of experience in the wine industry, she joined the company in April 2023 as a tour guide, before being promoted to Wine Tourism Manager in November 2023.
